OUR SERVICE....more detail

The services offered to food manufacturers by Food Standard Solutions include: Initial visit to advise site of their current status with respect to the requirements of the Standard (gap analysis)
  • Documentation
  • Layout of the site with respect to product flows & segregation
  • Clear advice on changes that may be required to the buildings / layout, and the most cost-effective means of achieving the requirements of the Standard.
  • Fully-costed proposal for work to be undertaken with site to develop BRC-compliant systems
    • Proposals are inclusive of expenses, so clients know the 'total cost'
  • Clear advice on the ongoing and ancillary costs associated with gaining and maintaining BRC Certification
    • Approximate cost of routine, ongoing microbiological testing
    • Staff training
    • Cost of the audit

Sites are welcome to take up a 'complete package' (covering all of the above) or to choose only those elements where they need support.

Systems are developed with factory staff to ensure the necessary paperwork is simply written and that it can be included in the routine jobs of manufacturing and supervisory staff, minimising the need to employ specialist technical staff. This latter point is crucial in minimising ongoing costs.

After the audit, ongoing support offered 'as required', form internal auditing through to a complete 'technical management' service on a part time basis: from a day a fortnight to a day every 3-6 months.

Many of the sites which Food Standard Solutions has helped to gain and maintain BRC Certification, have no full time 'technical staff' and have found the 'part-time technical manager' option to be an extremely cost-effective alternative to recruiting contracted staff.
